TITLE: Youth Employability Project Coordinator

ROLE PURPOSE:
Save the Children Thailand is implementing the Youth Employability Project in Bangkok to equip local youth with vocational training, enhance life skills, and improve employment opportunities while addressing barriers to decent work in Thailand.
The Project Coordinator will lead the implementation of project activities, including youth recruitment, adaptation, and delivery of the Vocational & Life Skills for Success curriculum in collaboration with local partners, vocational institutions, and the private sector. The role also involves overseeing the Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability, and Learning (MEAL) plan, preparing youth for internship placements, and collaborating with New Business Development (NBD) on donor stewardship activity. Additionally, the post holder will ensure that young people are empowered to access and retain decent employment by leveraging existing networks and pathways while maintaining a gender-sensitive and inclusive approach that considers the diverse vulnerabilities within the target communities.
SCOPE OF ROLE:
Reports to: Director of Programmes and Humanitarian
Staff reporting to this post: 1 Project Officer (with the potential for additional team members as the program evolves and funding allows)
Budget Responsibilities: Approximately 500,000 USD per year
Role Dimensions: Work closely with the Director of Programmes and the Strategic, Program Quality, and Impact (SPQI) team to ensure high-quality program operations. Collaborate across functions to enable effective implementation. Contribute to program strategy, implementation planning, and stakeholder coordination while fostering strong partnerships for meaningful impact. This role requires approximately 30% travel to field locations.
KEY AREAS OF ACCOUNTABILITY:
Project management:
- Manage the project’s grant, ensuring donors’ compliance through proper tracking of reporting on activities, training, and monitoring of project delivery and quality.
- Manage the project budget, ensuring efficient resource utilization and effective project implementation. Maintain and regularly update project management tools to monitor progress, report on challenges, track key performance indicators (KPIs), and ensure high-quality deliverables.
- Lead the implementation of project activities, ensuring timely execution within budget while maintaining close coordination with project partners to align on goals, progress, and a shared vision.
- Lead in the preparation of deliverables required by donors, including the project work plan, monitoring and evaluation plan, impact stories, quarterly and annual progress reports, and other required reports or products. Provide timely reports on project outcomes and financial status.
- Act as the focal point for the Youth Employability Project, regularly engaging with partners and local government to provide updates, collaborate on deliverables, and consult on strategic approaches.

Reporting and Monitoring Evaluation Accountability and Learning (MEAL):
- Monitor and evaluate the project activities in line with the internal M&E plan and in coordination with MEAL team.
- Liaise with relevant team members to collect information to ensure timely and quality reporting of project activities in line with donor and internal requirements.
- To maximize continuous learning, ensure timely and quality documentation of project activities, including collection of case studies and documenting of lessons learned, best practices and challenges.
Collaboration and Representation:
- Establish and nurture partnerships through multi-sector partnerships with a wide range of stakeholders, including technical and vocational education and training centres, government agencies, NGOs, educational institutions, businesses, and potential donors.
- Collaborate closely with New Business Development (NBD) to design and produce compelling communication strategies and materials that effectively showcase program progress and impact to donors. Develop and implement a plan for donor engagement and stewardship activities to strengthen relationships and sustain support.
- Contribute to a project business model that would be self-sustaining in the long term, including working with the NBD team to develop new proposals.

QUALIFICATIONS
- University degree in one of the disciplines relevant to the following areas: public relations, international relationships, communication, marketing, social sciences, or a field(s) relevant to development work.
- Thai Nationality
EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS
Essential
- Proven track record of at least 5 years in INGOs/NGOs managerial role, with a focus on children’s rights, migrant issues, or community development
- Passion for community engagement, localization and making a meaningful impact on the lives of marginalized individuals
- Strong network within non-profit sectors, local businesses, and corporate sectors.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain strong partnerships.
- Program management skills and advanced level of IT skills.
- Fluency in the local language/s and English.
- An outstanding service-oriented attitude and a can-do mindset.
Desirable
- Proven track record of delivering high-quality training in at least one of the following areas: customer service, vocational skills, life skills, digital literacy, or career guidance.
- Quickly adapt to new topics, grasp concepts on the go, and synthesize information efficiently.
- Ability and willingness to travel domestically as assigned including in the Deep South
