Org. Setting and Reporting

The Vocational education Assistant is reporting to Chief of Technical and Vocational
Education Training

Responsibilities

The incumbent

(A) Coordinating and overseeing intervention cycle of Project, including vocational education together with on the job training & placement service (to the extent possible).

(B) Conducting market surveys and define specializations needed by the market,
And establishes a network with employers to identify available vacancies.

(C) Advertising and registering applicants for vocational Technical courses , and communicate to trainees the available vacancies .

(D) Following up the progress and evaluation of short term courses

(E) Establishing & maintaining up-to-date database and prepares progress reports on the conducted short term courses and statistics of employment & submit it to the T.V.E.T management .

(F) Collecting success stories .

(G) Performing other duties as assigned .

Education

Intermediate institute in economics, project management or Business administration or DTC diploma in the same mentioned specialization

Work Experience

At least 2 years’ experience in an educational project, community based project or youth projects is required


At least 2 years' experience with office practice is required


Languages

Good command of written & spoken English and Arabic

Assessment

Evaluation of qualified candidates may include an assessment exercise which may be followed be competency –based interview

Special Notice

Contract Status:

- Limited Duration Contract for 6 months renewable appointment subject to funding confirmation.
Monthly basic salary: 638.70 USD
Grade: Band D

Other benefits include:
•Dependency allowances (if applicable).
•30 days of Annual leave in addition to maternity, paternity and sick leaves: subjective to eligibility.

- Candidates who are invited to a written test should submit their academic qualifications, employment certificates and other required documents, either before the date of the test, or on the day of the test. Failure to do so may entail disqualification from the recruitment process.


- Candidates should also submit a statement of non-employment (3 copies) given that governmental, or joint sector employees cannot be appointed to UNRWA posts even if they have leave without pay permit.

- Candidates who succeed in the recruitment process and receive an offer of appointment to the respective post must submit a notification issued by GAPAR to the effect that they have reported to GAPAR and have filled the required forms for obtaining approval of competent government authorities.


- They should also submit the following:
• Statement of non-conviction (3 copies).
• Copy of personal ID.

* General information
1. This vacancy notice is open to internal candidates. Daily paid workers holding a daily paid contract may be considered as internal candidates. As an Area post, only candidates who reside in Syria at the time of applications are eligible to apply. The Agency does not assume responsibilities nor support the issuance of work permits for those who has no legal documents to live in Syria;

UNRWA shares investigation and misconduct information with other UN Agencies, and past and prospective employers, about staff members who have been separated for misconduct, or who have separated whilst an investigation and/or disciplinary process for misconduct is underway; and such persons may be prohibited from employment with the United Nations.
