Job Description

1. TVET Expert

Availability: Immediate

Position summary:

TVET expert oversees capacity building activities in all counties and manages a team of capacity building officers based in each county and position also plays important role in mobilizing private sector employers.

Roles & responsibilities:

TVET expert has below listed activities in their portfolio.

Ø Contribution to the design, coordination and the implementation of measures in the Go-Blue project in the field of employment promotion and vocational education and training (e.g. occupational standard and curriculum customization/development, organizing practical training, development and expansion of training capacities, VTC instructors training, development of programs and implementation of short-term Competency Based and modularized trainings, development of assessment tools

Ø Mobilize private sector employers and complete on boarding exercise with them by signing the MOU

Ø Coordination and spearheading of corporate contributions, coordinating project implementation, progress reporting and other arrangements for partnerships with the private sector for high end employment of the beneficiaries after training

Ø Establish technical Steering Committee with partner training institutions for follow-up and monitoring of implementation

Ø Networking with industrial associations, individual companies and initiate partnership between VTC-TVET institutions and the industry e.g. designing and signing of partnership MoUs with the private sectors of the Go-Blue sectors

Ø Coordination of the project’s impact monitoring, contribution to weekly, quarterly and annual reporting procedures, management and monitoring

Ø Update employers on intake and graduations dates so to enable them to make plan for hire in advance.

Ø Connect employers with sector specific CoE’s and ensure that proper follow-up is done on periodical level.

Ø Contribution to Go-Blue working groups and regional learning activities as well as to relevant TVET working groups in the Go-Blue project

Ø Organize seminars, webinars and events to ensure that employers are always provided with an opportunity to provide support on all aspects of program.

Ø Establish a network of private sector employers for each sector of blue economy

Ø Conduct sector specific meetings and drives

Ø Planning, implementation, reporting of monthly capacity building events across all counties as per capacity building manual.

Ø Network with TVET authorities, TVET institutions and private sectors

Ø Ensure that participants take advantage of LMS in place under the project.

Ø Prepare monthly, quarterly, biannually, yearly reports and other customized reports for reporting purpose.

Ø Develop social media posts and case studies for project visibilities

Ø Mobilize best performers to give testimonies at different events in the project.

Minimum qualifications

· Master’s degree or equivalent in the fields of Economics, Business Administration, Social sciences or other related field

· At least three years professional experience in the relevant functional area or training institutions

· Demonstrated experience in project management including in donor funded project management, and monitoring and evaluation.
