Position Summary:

IREX seeks a qualified Short-term Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) Consultant to carryout short-term assignments including providing feedback on draft proposals for upcoming USAID-funded opportunities, providing technical inputs to program design, and drafting technical sections of proposals . S/he must be an expert in TVET, with extensive know-how in: effective private sector engagement including fostering linkages with TVET providers; TVET institution capacity building; TVET educator professional development; market-based curriculum and training program development; youth skills development; and or employee upskilling modalities. Familiarity with USAID-funded TVET/workforce development programming is an advantage and experience in the MENA region is desirable.

Summary of Responsibilities:

  • Support the development of competitive technical proposals by contributing to the technical design and leading the drafting of specific proposal sections
  • Liaise with members of the New Business Development Unit and technical experts
  • Contribute to a smooth proposal development process and adhere to proposal timelines
  • Other duties, as assigned

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree (master's preferred) in Education, Economics, International Development, social sciences, or a related field, along with a minimum of eight (8) years of experience in technical and vocational education strengthening, workforce development, youth development, and/or private sector engagement
  • Demonstrated experience working on USAID-funded programs
  • In-depth knowledge of donor priorities, as they relate to education, TVET, and workforce development
  • Experience writing technical proposals for international donor funding highly preferred
  • Experience working on programs focused on the MENA region strongly preferred
  • Experience with U.S. Government procurement policies, procedures, and mechanisms for international development activities
  • Must be fluent in English
