We are looking for a Senior Program Associate – Green Skilling and Green Jobs to lead our efforts in research and implementation of green skilling projects. This role is ideal for someone with a understanding of labor markets, vocational training, and sustainability-driven economic transitions. You will work with policymakers, industry leaders, academic institutions, and grassroots organisations to develop and scale skilling programs that create meaningful employment opportunities in the green economy.
Conduct in-depth analysis on green jobs, workforce transition, and skilling frameworks and policies in important sectors such as renewable energy, automotive, textiles.
Design and pilot skilling models that align with industry needs and ensure workforce preparedness for a low-carbon future.
Engage with government agencies, industry bodies, educational institutions, and international organizations to inform skilling frameworks and skilling programs that support green skilling.
Develop high-quality reports, policy briefs, and recommendations to influence decision-making at national and sub-national levels.
Organize workshops, training sessions, and partner consultations to lead collaboration and knowledge-sharing.
Education & Experience
Master’s degree in Public Policy, Economics, Environmental Studies, Labour Economics, Education, or a related field.
4–7 years of relevant experience in workforce development, skilling programs, employment policy, or sustainable economic transitions.
Experience working with government institutions, international agencies, or private sector partners on skilling and employment-related projects.
Skills & Competencies
Strong analytical and research skills with experience in policy analysis and program design.
Knowledge of labor market trends, vocational education frameworks, and sustainability-driven employment opportunities.
Expertise in data collection, analysis, and interpretation, especially related to employment trends and workforce transition
Experience handling large datasets and applying quantitative and qualitative research methodologies.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to develop compelling reports and presentations.
Project management experience, including partner engagement and coordination.
Experience with environmental sustainability and a commitment to promoting equitable workforce transitions.
Salary and Benefits: 1400000-1800000 INR CTC Per annumSalary shall be commensurate with experience and skills. WRI offers a generous and comprehensive benefits package.
Duration: 1 years as term hire (extendable based on performance and project requirements)
Location: Mumbai, Delhi, Bangalore
Start date: As soon as possible.
