The Federation is recruiting for a Senior Policy Officer to help run our busy policy function.
The SPO role will have a particular focus on reviewing government/regulation policy, interpreting, and analysing the impact on members and learners, and providing briefs to the CEO and Policy Board as required.
The role will also lead on apprenticeships policy and the international export of qualifications and will work closely with our CEO and Policy Officer.
The role is varied and will include undertaking research projects, preparing policy briefs, and updating members on policy by contributing to newsletters, webinars, meetings and events.
It is essential that the post holder has a background in education policy, which might be gained from working in policy at an awarding organisation, think tank or government/regulatory body.
This is an exciting role, where no two days will be the same. We are a small, friendly and supportive team and we are looking for someone who is able to come on board and work with us enthusiastically to meet the organisation’s objectives.
We use a range of IT systems, such as WordPress for our website and Moodle as our VLE/LMS. Training will be provided, but it is important that the Senior Policy Officer is comfortable using these and other platforms.
We are a high-trust, high-performance organisation and the Senior Policy Officer will work predominantly from home, with travel throughout the UK and particularly to London for meetings.
To apply for this position, please send a covering letter showing how you meet the job description for this position along with your CV to Karen Daws, Executive Director (Policy, Operations and Membership) at karen.daws@awarding.org.uk.
The closing date for applications is 9am on Monday 10 October.
