Qualification Certificate / Diploma / Degree Level Education in • High school diploma or equivalent. University degree in related area would be a distinct advantage. (essential).
University Degree in • At least 4 years of experience in relevant position with a high school diploma and 2 years with a university degree (essential).

Sector experience Minimum of • Previous working experience in other international organizations (IOM, UN etc.) is an advantage. year/s of demonstrable relevant Civil Society & NGO’s experience (essential).
Minimum of • Effective organizational skills and ability to establish priorities and plans, ability to work under pressure and cope with deadlines. / • Good knowledge of MS Office applications,e.g. Excel, Word, Outlook, etc. year/s of demonstrable relevant Any experience (essential).

Overview of position

Under overall supervision of the LMI Programme Manager and direct supervision of Senior Programme Assistant, the Project Assistant will be responsible for supporting the overall operations and implementation of various TVET upgrade initiatives and its related administrative tasks with relevant internal and external counterparts. The incumbent will also be involved in day-to-day running of other administrative tasks of the unit with the following duties and responsibilities:

Role objectives

  1. Support with the overall implementation of TVET sector upgrade in coordination with Sr. Programme Officer and relevant public counterparts.
  2. Assist to establish strong ties with the project partners, TVET centres and private sectors and provide a liaison support to communicate with these partners.
  3. Support with the administrative procedure related to TVET centre facility enhancement and capacity building programs.
  4. Assist to organize relevant meetings with TVET counterparts, take notes and support the Sr. Programme Assistant with the implementation of the action points.
  5. Serve as liaison support to communicate and coordination TVET operational engagements with the service providers and implementing partners.
  6. Monitor that TVET programme partners, management and field staff understand the technical requirements for smooth implementation.
  7. Follow up the proper collection and documentation of TVET administrative tasks.

8.     Support the LMI management team with the development and implementation of TVET capacity building activities targeting TVET professionals under the Ministry of Labour’s mandate.

  1. Assist the Sr Programme Assistant in developing project documents, forms and tracking tools related to TVET upgrade initiatives.
  2. Undergo field travel as needed to support field teams.
  3. Demonstrate an in-depth understanding of relevant Operations SOPs as well as the ability to remain professional, impartial, and unbiased during all interactions with migrants and colleagues per the IOM Code of Conduct and instruction on the Prevention of Sexual Exploitation and Abuse (PSEA.).
  4. Maintain the confidentiality and integrity of all relevant paperwork in line with standards of conduct and data protection rules. Alert the management of any non-compliance to SOPs or codes of conduct by IOM staff members or partners.
  5. Perform such other duties as may be assigned.
