Background:
The Government of Uzbekistan and UNESCO have been implementing the “Skills Development in Rural Areas of Uzbekistan” project, funded by EU for the period of 2020-2024. This project aims to support the development of relevant skills of women and men for sustainable, diversified and modernised agriculture in Uzbekistan. This project will contribute to improving the quality, relevance, efficiency and effectiveness of the skills development system in the agriculture and irrigation sectors, initiated by the Government of Uzbekistan, with a particular focus on the rural regions selected by the national stakeholders (Karakalpakstan, Khorazm, Bukhara, Surkhondaryo).
Tasks with timeline:
The contractor will support the project activities of: 1. Designing Sectoral Qualifications Framework (SQF) for agriculture and irrigation based on the Functional Maps and in line with National Qualification Framework (NQF); 2. Designing and developing competency-based curricula as well as training and assessment material for selected qualifications: three in agriculture and two in irrigation for TVET schools; and 3. Providing follow-up support to the implementation of the curricula in the project pilot TVET schools. Functional maps and Occupational Standards (Professional Standards) for the qualifications have been developed in the project. The project has one pilot TVET school in each region, in total four schools. The work will commence from middle of February or as soon as possible until the end of December 2023. The main tasks are to:
The contractor is expected to travel and stay in Uzbekistan at least 4 times (each time three to four weeks) in 2023 and visit the four project regions and TVET schools for consultation and delivery of the trainings.
