A better life for everyone and meaningful tasks for our employees - that is our model for success. For more than 50 years, the German Society for International Cooperation (GIZ) has been supporting the German government in the worldwide implementation of development policy goals. Together with partner organizations in 120 countries, we are involved in a wide variety of projects. If you want to make a difference in the world and develop yourself in the process, you've come to the right place.
The Indo-German Programme for Vocational Education and Training (IGVET) is one out of three ongoing bilateral projects in the field of private sector development in India. The project aims at strengthening the dialogue between public and private sector actors in the Indian vocational education and training (VET) system and at promoting high-quality and cooperative training opportunities for India’s youth. To this end, the IGVET project works closely with the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship and provides advisory services and capacity building support to selected industries and industry associations, Industrial Training Institutes (ITIs), and Sector Skill Councils (SSCs). During its first four years of implementation, the IGVET project has piloted various successful models of cooperative VET in four Indian states, namely Karnataka, Maharashtra, Telangana, and Rajasthan. Since September 2020, the project now focusses on replicating these models in additional sectors and regions across the country.
