Job description

Located in Dong Nai, one of the country’s economically fastest-growing provinces, home to large industrial zones, theVocational College of Machinery and Irrigation (VCMI) has a keen interest in improving the quality of its training programmes to increase enrollment and expand its other businesses. Based on the capacity building concept of the “Supporting High-Quality TVET institutes”, VCMI has been supported to develop further to become a High-Quality institute for Green TVET, which provides practice-oriented initial and further trainings for a green economy. In this context, VCMI has been supported to develop and implement the new green occupation “MechanicsTechnicians for Sanitary, Heating and Climate Technology” to meet the demand of the economy. Energy efficiency and solar thermal energy play an important role in this.

Your tasks

  • Advise the teachers of VCMI and other TVET institutes on designing and implementing practical, demand-oriented training and examination for the new green occupation “MechanicsTechnicians for Sanitary, Heating and Climate Technology”
  • Provide hands-on practical training for teachers of VCMI and other TVET Institutes through development and implementation of structured further training measures
  • Coach the teachers of VCMI and other TVET Institutes on development of didactical teaching and learning material for the practical training, as well as for theory lessons in the occupation of “MechanicsTechnicians for Sanitary, Heating and Climate Technology”Advise TVET institutes on development and systematic implementation of an efficient workshop management conception (training organisation, health & safety at work, maintenance and repair, sparing use of resources, environmental protection)
  • Advise workplace safety and environmental protection
  • Advise the establishment and operation of industry boards at TVET Institutes for the new occupation
  • Advise on in-company training phases and cooperation between teachers and in-company trainers
  • Advise the management and teaching staff of TVET institutes on JustTransition.

Your profile

  • Technician, Master Technician or Engineer in Mechanics forSanitary, Heating and Climate Technology or in a closely related technical occupation.
  • Experience in vocational education and training and in cooperation with the business sector.
  • Abilities to support and advise the development and implementation of training programmes, teaching and learning materials.
  • Experience in operational safety and health, digital transformation, workshop management and green skills.
  • Good communication and intercultural competencies
  • Business fluent in English, knowledge of Vietnamese is an advantage

  • As a development worker, you can use the project vehicle for trips to school or to visit a doctor or can receive a monthly lump-sum mobility allowance instead. The project vehicle can also be used for personal trips with your manager’s approval.

  • As well as your basic living allowance, as a development worker you will also receive extensive additional benefits during your assignment (including a foreign service premium, family allowances, private group health insurance).
  • To enable you to get ready for your assignment as a development worker and your outward journey, you will be given outward journey leave following your preparation time in Germany.
  • We will cover a large portion of the childcare costs for dependent children under 14 who are accompanying you if your partner is not doing so and is not a development worker or integrated expert themselves. Most nursery and school fees are paid.
  • We will reimburse you for your rental costs based on the rent index for your country as well as paying you an equipment and furnishing allowance on top.
  • You and the members of your family accompanying you will be covered by our health and liability insurance, while your family members will also benefit from accident insurance. In countries in crisis, we operate a comprehensive risk management system for your protection, which minimises personal dangers and risks.
