The incumbent of this post is responsible to the Principal Training Centre. He/she supervises the administrative and technical staff.
The incumbent:
1/ Supervises the vocational training programme including:
A) Supervising and providing guidance to all Senior Vocational Training Instructors, Technical Instructors, Academic Instructors and Trade Instructors in achieving the programme objectives;
B) Preparing and ensuring the implementation of the weekly time-table;
C) Coordinating the preparation, implementation, follow up and evaluation of the biennial work plans;
D) Supervising and developing the instructional staff teaching competency through the use of integrated supervisory tools including classroom/workshop visits, seminars, action research;
E) Planning and assisting in the implementation of suitable in-service training programmes based on the needs of the instructional staff;
F) Preparing and reviewing the staffing table of the centre;
G) Ensuring that orders of training supplies are submitted in accordance with established procedures;
H) Ensuring that equipment and other training facilities are properly maintained and safe-guarded.
2. Assists Principal Training Centre in managing, supervising and coordinating the activities of the centre.
3. Attends to student’s progress including:
A) Reviewing the progress reports and marks of trainees and advising on any necessary educational and/or disciplinary measures to be taken as appropriate;
B) Applying the TC’s rules and regulations to academic and administrative problems;
C) Discussing student's problems with concerned staff, and identifying appropriate courses of action; counseling with students on related matters.
4. Supervises on-the-job training for VTC trainees.
5. Liaises with government and private institutions providing similar training.
6. Acts for the Principal during his/her absence.
7. Performs other duties as may be assigned by the supervisor.

- Advanced university degree in one of the subjects taught at the centre or in education, Administration or in Engineering.
- A certificate or diploma showing completion of a course of at least one year duration in education or instructor training.

Ph.D. degree in education or education administration or in one of the subjects taught at the centre.
At least three years’ experience in an administrative/supervisory capacity in a vocational educational institution is required;
At least two years’ experience in teaching or instructing in subjects relevant to those taught at the Training Centre is required.

-Contract Type: Fixed Term Appointment for 3 years; including 1 year probation period, with the possibility of further extension, subject to the availability of funds, satisfactory performance, and continuing need.
Grade and Salary: Grade 15 Monthly basic salary USD1,592.60, payable in JD at UN monthly exchange rate, plus a Jerusalem allowance payable in JD at UNRWA rate:
a. The amount of this Allowance shall be NIS 2000 per month for each eligible Area staff holding Jerusalem ID and working in any of UNRWA installations in West Bank Field; or
b. NIS 1000 per month for each eligible Area staff working in any of UNRWA installations in East Jerusalem and not holding Jerusalem ID.
Other benefits include:
•Provident Fund contribution (15.2% of basic salary paid by the Agency).

•30 days of annual leave.
