In December 2020, UNESCO and the European Union signed the three-year Phase 2 of the TVET reform project “Jobs Creation Through Technical & Vocation education SYSTEM Strengthening & Labour Market Linkages”. Phase 2 to strengthen and consolidate the policy and systems developed in Phase 1 by embedding them in Federal and local Directorate policies and procedures; and through their application at the provider level, focusing on vocational schools and universities to develop centers of excellence as a model and resource for other institutions for possible replication and scale-up nation-wide.
The project is under the overall Supervision of the Chief of Education. On a day-to-day basis, the incumbent will be responsible for supporting and managing the implementation of TVET supporting technically and organizationally the Chief Of Education in implementing a complex and articulate project, aiming at reforming the TVET system in Iraq.
The Project will enhance the employment of Iraqi youth from 7 Technical Universities and Polytechnics and 5 Vocational schools by creating centers of Vocational Excellence that have strong labour market links, revised curricula and pedagogy, and a student-centered approach.

EDUCATION
Advanced university degree (Master's or equivalent) in the field of education, social sciences or any other related field(s). A first-level university degree in the aforementioned fields in combination with two additional years of qualifying experience may be accepted in lieu of the advanced university degree.

UNESCO’s salaries consist of a basic salary and other benefits which may include if applicable: 30 days annual leave, family allowance, medical insurance, pension plan etc.
The approximate annual starting salary for this post is USD 48,870.
