Job description

As part of the development of its activities in Côte d'Ivoire, GIZ through its programme for the promotion of small and medium-sized enterprises and training-employment (INVEST for JOBS) contributes to the strengthening of the ecosystem and structures of vocational training in Côte d'Ivoire. In this context, the EU proposes to provide funding to implement a new type of vocational training project focused on the concrete demand of private companies in terms of qualified manpower in the sectors of (1) industrial mechanics and (2) New Information and Communication Technologies (NICT).

Your tasks

  • Responsibility for providing advisory support to the Head of the component and partners in the implementation of the Project, ensuring the relevance and effectiveness of technical assistance measures and monitoring of expected results
  • Provide conceptual support on the theme of technical/professional training in the specific field of NICTs
  • Contribute to refining the concept of implementation according to the "action description" (EU project document)
  • Assure the planning, coordination and monitoring of relevant activities of the implementation of the Project as well as their coherence with the results to be achieved in the Project
  • Mobilize, manage and supervise short-term expert missions, ensuring the quality of their performance
  • Provide support and/or technical advice to national authorities, training centers and the private sector
  • Ensure a direct and regular professional relationship with partner institutions
  • Monitor the evolution of activities and results with the help of a dashboard to be developed
  • Ensure reporting related to activities and contribute to the preparation of meetings of the operational monitoring committee and the steering committee

Your profile

  • University degree in the fields of social sciences, economics, politics, training engineering or equivalent
  • Experience in the field of technical/vocational training will be a major asset
  • Many years of proven professional experience, preferably gained abroad, in the Information and Communication Technologies sector
  • Many years of proven general professional experience
  • Perfect knowledge of West Africa; Knowledge of Côte d'Ivoire and its technical/vocational training system will be highly appreciated
  • Experience in a technology/telecom company and solid experience in cooperation with the private sector in West Africa
  • Experience in project supervision and mobilization of a multidisciplinary team
  • Proven experience in project planning, monitoring and reporting
  • Business fluent in French as well as German or English
